December 2008 - Happy New Year!

Just looking back on the past year and would like to thank everyone who made this year so enjoyable. All of our boarders and their families, students, parents, clients who purchased horses, Erin and Sheila thank you for making this year a memorable one.

Highlights and wonderful memories created include........

Welcoming little Ripley and Oh Henry into the world and watching them grow and in Ripley's case and grow and grow some more over the summer. For those of you who do not know Brittany purchased Oh Henry and has big big plans for him in the future.

Brittany and Oscars change over from the hunter division into the jumper division. For those who know Brit and Oscar their road over the years has not been the easiest but all that hard work paid off this year when Oscar found his true calling and has turned into the superstar Brittany always knew he was. Under the coaching of Lindsay Bradshaw they had a very successful show season and I cannot wait to see what next year brings for this pair.

My homebred CSHA gelding Trystin being started under saddle and starting his show career. For those of you who know little Trystin he is personality personified. With his tireless energy and incredible athletic abilities he kept everyone on their toes and helped me out with a broken ankle to boot! Trystin has been sold and has a wonderful new partner, Mary Lomas, and although I was ever so sad to see him go I know he is in great hands with Mary and look forward to seeing them accomplish great things in the future.

The arrival of little Harry Trotter who made his debut at the local hunter shows with a bang and who has won Carries heart. She is learning that ponies can be little monsters but they can also be best friends.

The Canadian Sport Horse National Foal Championships and mare inspection held in September. Hopefully this will become an annual event and give sport horse breeders an arena to show case their beautiful mares and foals and support the breeding industry in the Maritimes.

Zoe and Jordana's purchase of their first horses and best friends Rayne and Ty. What an experience owning your first horse can be and these two young ladies are enjoying every minute of it.

Watching my baby's Argentina's belly grow and grow as we eagerly anticipate the arrival of her first foal next spring.

The arrival of Bogart, my long awaited and long searched for new partner. Proof positive once again that ex racers deserve new careers.

Last but not least is Katia's purchase of her wonderful new partner, the 4 year old black Dutch Warmblood mare Zett. Katia lost her best friend Zeppy last winter and it is so good to hear her laughter and see her smile again when she is working with Zett.

Once again a heart felt thank you to all who contributed to this wonderful past year we are looking forward to next year and to new memories and accomplishments for everyone.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Sandra, Reid, Dayton, Garret, Connor and Carrie
December 2008 - New Arrival Bogart (Bogie)!

It was with mixed emotions I watched my little Trystin go off to his new home with his wonderful new owner Mary but this created the opportunity for me to meet Bogart aka Bogie. He is a very handsome 16'2 7 year old dark bay thoroughbred who raced until he was four, had some time off and now is hopefully heading for the hunter ring. The name Bogart just seemed to fit him as he is handsome and a little rugged all at the same time. Bogart is another shining example of the wonderful, athletic thoroughbreds who can start a second career when there racing days are over. I had an instant connection with this guy and it does not look like he will be going anywhere for the time being!

October 2008 - New Arrival Madison Avenue!

Madison just arrived from Ontario and what a lovely girl she is. Not yet three and already standing 16'2 with lots of growing still to do. Madison will be started under saddle in the coming weeks watch for her on the For Sale pages she may just be that hunter/dressage prospect you have been looking for.

October 11th, 2008 - Clinic with Dressage Coach Erin MacQuarrie

Level III dressage coach Erin MacQuarrie will be here to give a one day clinic. Please contact Sandra for details if you would like to participate.

September 20th, 2008 - CSHA National Foal Championships!

The CSHA National Foal Championships were a great success the weather finally cooperated and a fun day was had by all. There were several gorgeous mares presented at the mare inspection in the morning and in the broodmare class in the afternoon and eight equally gorgeous foals who were all awarded premiums with very complimentary comments from the inspector about the high quality of the foals bred in the Maritimes. Hopefully next year we will have an even bigger turn out. Thank you for all who participated and made the day such a huge success. $230.00 was also raised to be donated to Greyhound Pets of Atlantic Canada a big thank you to all who contributed to this very worthwhile cause.

July 6th, 2008 - Show Results

Both Trystin and Harry Trotter attended the show at Carmaz Stables. Trystin was champion in the Intro Hunter division and Reserve Champion in the 2'6 division. Not bad for his second show. Harry Trotter was his usual wonderful little self and was third and fourth over fences in the Low Hunter division and 6th in the hack. Erica King on Major also brought home her first red ribbon over fences on her wonderful gelding Major. Thanks again to Brittany and Michele.

July 1st, 2008 - New Arrivals Purely Gold and Rayne
Arriving from Ontario Purely Gold (Leo) is a 14'1 hand large palomino pony gelding. Leo is 4 years old and very fancy and is destined for a career in the hunter ring.

Rayne is a lovely 16'1 hand chestnut tb mare who is also 4 years old. She has a super sweet puppy dog personality and should also be destined for a career in the hunter ring or possibly as an eventer.

Keep on eye on the For Sale page for more photos and information on Leo and Rayne.

June 15th, 2008 - Show Results
We attended the Pinehill pony club schooling show with Trystin, Harry Trotter, Gracie, Bomber and Major. A great day was had by all a big thank you to the Coleen Caroll-Nesbitt for organizing this fun day and to Shawna Rinzler for providing the venue. With the exception of Gracie (who participated Au Concours) all of these horse and most of these riders were attending their first official show and they were all superstars. Lover's Tryst (Trystin) was Baby Hunter Champion, Harry Trotter and Carrie had a great time in the lead line and Carrie brought home her first red ribbon. Veronica with Flashy Bomber and Erica with Jumping Jahosaphat had placing in their classes and I think were very pleased with their special guys. The highlight of the day had to be Michele Lemoine riding Harry Trotter over fences in the baby hunter classes over fences. Everybody in town now knows Harry Trotters name! Thanks for being such a good sport Michele.

June 10th, 2008 - Oh Henry
Introducing our long awaited, very long awaited, arrival a magnificent Canadian Sport Horse Colt whose barn name is Henry. Henry made a quick arrival last Tuesday night while me and Brittany were inside eating pizza! Thankfully we checked the camera and saw that Socks had started foaling. Henry was well worth the wait and is a tribute to his lovely thoroughbred mom I Got Socks and inherited all that bling bling from her as well. Henry's sire is Ashland Farms Dutch Warmblood stallion Xavier K. Keep an eye on the For Sale page for new pictures of Henry in the coming weeks. A big thank you again to my foaling attendants Brittany, Karen and Doug Balser who helped me out while Reid was away.
June 1st, 2008 - Harry Trotter
Carrie`s long awaited dream has come true with the arrival of her new 5 year old welsh cross pony Harry Trotter. Harry came from Ontario and has proven to be a little superstar since his arrival and man can this little fellow jump! I am sure there will be a lot of news of Harry and Carrie`s adventures over the coming months.
